Two violent stabbings overnight

A VICTORIAN man was chased by a group of up to six Asian men and stabbed several times early this morning in the western suburbs.

The man in his 20s was chased along Hanson Rd by the group and into Alison St where he was stabbed numerous times.

The man “received severe lacerations to his hands, arms and body and is in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital undergoing emergency surgery,” police spokesman Senior Constable Mick Abbott said.

It was the second stabbing in the city overnight, with another man stabbed and robbed by a woman in the northern suburbs.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

08/29TV – Police need your help to identify two men who assaulted a security guard on a Gawler bound train. Between 12.15pm and 12.30pm on Thursday September 6 2007 three men were on the Adelaide to Gawler bound train. They all began smoking. A PSA and security guard approached the men and asked them for their tickets. One of the men did not have a ticket, the PSA went to the ticket machine and bought a ticket. One of the men then became aggressive and approached the PSA with both hands clenched. A scuffle broke out between the three men, PSA and security guard. This incident was captured on security footage within the train. The males left the train at Elizabeth Railway Station and then threw ballast at staff. One of the men has been apprehended, the other two are still wanted by police. They are described as: 1. Male, aboriginal, 183cms tall, 100kgs with a goatee beard, 2. Male, aboriginal, 183+cms tall, 70kgs with long shoulder length hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact BankSA Crime Stoppers.

Murder charge after stabbing death at Welland

A WELLAND man was acting in “self defence” when he fatally stabbed his mother’s defacto partner with a kitchen knife on Thursday night, the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court has heard.

Lazaros David Hajistassi is charged with the murder of 48-year old James Vincent Farquhar, who died from stab wounds at the Frederick St home at Welland.

The court heard Hajistassi had confronted Mr Farquhar over an ongoing domestic dispute with his mother when the fight broke out just after 11.30pm.

Police prosecutor Grant Watterson said Hajistassi’s mother heard her son “fly off the handle” before emerging from the home soon after.

Hajistassi, 26, allegedly said: “He attacked me, he stabbed me and I think I’ve killed him”, before phoning police and paramedics.

Snr Sgt Watterson said Mr Farquhar was stabbed in the neck, back and side and that the force of the blows bent the knife’s blade at right angles.

Defence lawyer Justin Wickens said Hajistassi had stabbed Mr Farquhar because he was under attack and would plead not guilty to the murder charge.

“He was not the aggressor here, the partner of his mother was the aggressor,” he said.

Hajistassi appeared in court with his head heavily bandaged and a black eye.

He claimed was Mr Farquhar stabbed him in the side of his head and eye-gouged him during the fight.

Mr Wickens said Hajistassi’s mother was supportive of her son and was being cared for by a friend.

Magistrate Stefan Metanomski refused to grant Hajistassi home detention bail.

Neighbour Anna Alexiou told The Advertiser she heard what “sounded like a woman screaming at first”.

I thought someone was having an argument, but I didn’t come outside. My little boy was so frightened by the all of the noise,” she said.

Hajistassi was remanded in custody to face court again in September.

DOCS gave up on murdered children

THE desperate plight of three children found murdered yesterday by their violent father was known to the NSW Department of Community Services which gave up on them.

Just days earlier, the children’s father Gary Bell, 44 was released by police on bail after bashing his wife, with the officers notifying the beleaguered department about Jack, 7, Maddie, 5 and Bon, aged just 18 months.

Last night, hours after their tiny bodies and their dead father were found in a car at the family’s home at Pericoe on the Far South Coast, DOCS admitted it failed to reach the family and offered the excuse that staff had tried. [more ...]

Racist Violence in Paris and Brussels

The 19th arrondissement of Paris has become a war zone between Jews and North Africans. The most recent flare-up of violence occurred on Saturday June 21. A 17-year old Jewish boy suffered several broken ribs and skull fractures during a violent assault by Mulsim youths. The boy was hospitalized in an unconscious state at Cochin Hospital where he is currently being kept in an artificial coma.

The boy, who was wearing a kippa, was walking on Rue Petit, in the 19th, when he came upon a group of 30 young persons of African origin who insulted him before beating him. Five minors were arrested, said a police source, but they have not been identified by witnesses. According to the police, the assault must be put into the context of “brawls” between groups of young Jews and North Africans. One such brawl is said to have occurred just before the beating.

Yesterday, Le Figaro analyzed the situation in the Buttes-Chaumont (the Chaumont Hills) in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, where urban warfare has become commonplace. On Sunday, Roger Madec, the socialist mayor of the 19th arrondissement, requested supplementary police units to restore order. Le Figaro reports that in the pitched battles it is sometimes difficult to discern aggressors from aggressed. In mid-June, a car chase resulted in several young Jews being arrested, “but they were the victims,” insists Sammy Ghozlan, of the Bureau of Vigilance against Anti-Semitism. “They felt compelled to stick together to protect themselves,” he said though he agrees that certain Jewish gangs are also looking for a fight.

Le Figaro notes that “The Palestinian cause, so often evoked during the anti-Semitic attacks that resurged in 2000 in France, seems to be totally forgotten… contrary to anti-Jewish stereotypes.” This is an interesting comment. Even the French media perceive a worsening of the cancer that is spreading. Now they need to apply this reasoning to all the attacks and crimes in France committed by Muslim immigrants and Africans, and they will see that the motivation is basic anti-white European hatred, like basic anti-Semitism, and not some trumped up excuse like insufficient housing.

However the authorities will rush to turn this into part of their anti-racism/anti-Semitism campaign, where aggressions against Muslims and Jews are lumped together as equally bad, and aggressions against white Europeans are almost non-events.

Cultural worries covered

… The “burkhini” is making a splash with Muslim students in the Riverland.

The wetsuit-style lycra costume, which covers the arms, legs and hair, has given 10 Renmark High School students the chance to learn to swim while remaining true to their culture.

Principal Paul Wilton said since the school bought the burkhinis, the students had become more active.

“We noticed that, while the boys were actively participating in events, the girls were very shy and none of them came to the school swimming carnival,” he said.

“We are a river community (and) learning to swim is a safety issue here and swimming is very much a part of the culture of this town.

The girls, who moved to Renmark from Afghanistan in the past 18 months, now take part in weekly swimming lessons at the local pool.

A MAN was arrested at Ingle Farm this morning and charged with aggravated robbery over a terrifying gunpoint raid on a bank at Glynde last Thursday.

Detectives from Operation Counteract, investigating armed robberies, believe they know the identities of the three other men wanted for the highly organised hoist.

Bank staff were terrorised when three men smashed their way into the staff area of the National Australia Bank, behind the customer service counter.

The staff were threatened with a semi-automatic handgun before the men left the scene with cash.

The wanted men are all described as “indigenous” and have been linked to several other crimes including a home invasion and car theft at Sommerton Park, a terrifying armed hold up at the Mawson Lakes hotel and two post office robberies, all within the past two to three weeks.

Asked if the wanted men were Operation Mandrake targets, linked to the so-called `Gang of 49′ detective superintendent Tony Rankine said the suspects were “in an older age group”.

The arrested man is expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court either this afternoon or early tomorrow.

VICTORIA’S police chief is warning SA’s tough new anti-bikie gang laws will lead to increased conflict between police and bikies and drive them underground.
Police Commissioner Christine Nixon says the laws will “merely drive the visible appearance of organised motorcycle gangs (OMCGs) underground, where the criminal activity will continue to function”.

“Rather than displacing OMCG organised crime activity from SA, it is likely the new laws will increase police-OMCG conflict,” she said.

“Victoria Police does not support proposals intended to deal with OMCG members in a similar manner to that of terrorist groups by prohibiting groups and individual association between declared persons.”

In her submission to a federal parliamentary crime inquiry, Ms Nixon also says the SA laws would probably breach Victoria’s charter of human rights.

SA Police has disagreed with the comments, with a spokeswoman for Police Commissioner Mal Hyde saying police believed “our legislation will be highly effective in disrupting serious criminal behaviour”.

‘”SAPOL can’t understand Chief Commissioner Nixon’s opinion these criminals will be driven underground, as serious organised criminals already go to great lengths to keep their criminal activities secret,” she said.

Queensland’s Crime and Misconduct Commission also has questioned the effectiveness of the SA laws.

Bikie gang expert Dr Arthur Veno has called for an independent crime commission in SA to oversee the implementation of the new laws.

Their views are contained in submissions to the inquiry into laws to outlaw serious and organised crime groups. The committee is expected to take evidence in Adelaide early next month.

State Parliament passed the new laws last month after an extensive debate and protests from lawyers and civil libertarians.

The tough anti-bikie laws make it an offence for outlaw motorcycle club members or people with criminal records to meet more than six times a year. They also significantly widen police powers to deal with bikie gangs.

A recent bikie funeral in Adelaide for Gypsy Jokers president Wayne “Chiller” McGrath, attended by more than 300 people, might have been declared illegal under the new laws, which are yet to come into effect.

The Queensland commission submission says legislation proscribing specific groups may be useful in disrupting the activities of outlaw motorcycle gangs but banning association among certain individuals is likely to be subject to extensive legal challenge.

“Persons may be sent to jail not for what they do but for who they know,” it says.

Dr Veno, from Monash University’s school of political and social inquiry, in a joint submission with Dr Julie van den Eynde, from Queensland University’s faculty of social and behavioural science, says the new legislation has no checks and balances.

He said the only possible recourse was to put some balance back in the system and to establish an independent commission against corruption to oversee the implementation of the legislation.

A spokeswoman for Attorney-General Michael Atkinson, Jayne Stinson, said the Government made no apology for taking a tough stance and adopting all necessary measures to eradicate criminals from the streets.

“An ICAC is not necessary,” she said. “SA has a comprehensive system of anti-corruption bodies.

“These include the Police Complaints Authority, the Auditor-General and an Ombudsman with the powers of a royal commission as well as whistleblowers legislation.”

BULLSHIT!

If you live in SA and have thoughts or beliefs that are contrary to those that the state government allows – or even worse, contrary to those as allowed by the popular media, you have no legal comeback. If you are rich, you will undoubtedly find some money-grabbing lawyer to reap the profits of your up and coming legal failure, but for the average person, it begins with a series of phonecalls to half a dozen lawyers, whereupon you find that they refuse to even discuss the matter with you. Others will accept you but start with a bill of $300 for a half an hour “consultation.” I presume the exhorbitant bill for a 30 minute chat is supposed to disuade you from even thinking of hiring that particular whore of a legal consultant/solicitor.

The Police Complaints Authority plays judge and jury in its own right refusing to investigate cases where, again, it doesn’t like the particular complainant’s thoughts or beliefs. When I have seen the PCA investigate a complaint, the person in question has been thoroughly harrassed by the police to the point where the person making the complaint has barely escaped going to prison for the crime of just trying to enter his own home while the police were visiting a neighbour. In this case, the police were caught lying in court and the case was thrown out. After the complaint was made to the PCA about the violent behaviour of the police, SA Police decided to appeal the case in a higher court. All the previous evidence was ignored, the police by this time had made up a better story and the defendent was abused by the judge – like I said, barely escaping prison time.

The Ombudsman for ANYTHING in this country is always a joke. They are there to prevent the average person accomplishing anything via a complaint while logging it for statistical purposes as yet another complaint successfully dealt with. All the ombusdman ever does – whether it’s the banking, communications or law ombudsman does is advise the complainant that the industry or government agency he or she is making the complaint against has the right to screw him or her over under current law.

The only people who have any legal protection in this state/country are the filthy rich who can afford their own legal expenses and the non-Whites, homosexuals and feminists that usually escape needless persecution through their political correctness.

As for SA’s whistleblowers legislation?

Council grant for mosque work

Australia’s oldest mosque is getting a $65,000 grant from Adelaide City Council to fund the repairs to one of its minarets.

The mosque in Gilbert Street in the city was built in the late 1880s, with minarets added in 1903.

Lord Mayor Michael Harbison says it is the first time the Council has funded refurbishment work on a mosque.

“This money allocated will restore the fourth minaret of the mosque to its former glory and give us what really is a beautiful building, very important to the Islamic community in Adelaide, but [also] a great tourist attraction,” he said.

“[Not only] Adelaide’s mosque but the oldest mosque in Australia.”

What a load of multicultural bullshit. If the building is dangerous, tear it down. If they want to beg money from a government, let them bugger off to Saudi Arabia like they always do.

Bikie laws ‘must cover prisons’

THE Opposition [Liberal Party] wants new legislation aimed at stopping bikies from associating to cover their activities in the state’s prisons.

Opposition correctional services spokesman David Wade said revelations in the Sunday Mail last week of gang brawls indicated the Government was not effectively managing gang members inside prison.

“Labor is keen to lock people up – it needs to give more attention to effectively managing prisoners while they are in prison,” he said.

“The situation is unacceptable and it is only going to get worse as the new bikies’ legislation kicks in. Not only does the legislation lead to more prisoners but the Government’s legislation gives a blanket exemption allowing gang members to associate within prison.”

Last week the Sunday Mail revealed police and Correctional Services had met following a number of bikie-related clashes inside Yatala Labour Prison.

Further meetings are planned to facilitate the exchange of information on gang members to enable them to be properly managed when in custody.

Mr Wade said the Government should consider amending the legislation to enable prison management to charge prisoners who associated without reasonable excuse or permission.

AN Aboriginal man who committed a series of racially motivated rapes is set to be released into the community.

The Court of Appeal today ruled Travice Allan Edwards be released from jail under a 10-year, 28-point community-based supervision order.

Edwards was 23 in 1994 when he was sentenced to 14 years’ jail for the rape of three females – the youngest aged just 12 – a year earlier.

The court was told he would persuade them to travel with him in his car before taking a detour into a forest, where he would rape them.

Edwards, who spent much of his life at Cherbourg, west of Brisbane, later explained to police that he selected the victims – who were all of Caucasian appearance – as a means of expressing his anger towards white people.

The court was told his mother was beaten to death by her white partner when he was a child.

At Edwards’ full-time release date in December last year, Queensland Attorney-General Kerry Shine applied to have him further detained on the grounds he was a serious danger to the community.

However, Edwards took this decision to the Court of Appeal in Brisbane, where today it was overturned.

The Court of Appeal upheld his lawyer’s argument that the judge had erred in making a continuing order because he misunderstood evidence tendered by psychiatrists on how a supervision order would affect his risk of re-offending.

In a written judgment, the Court of Appeal judges said they accepted Edwards had made good progress towards rehabilitation, which would continue with further treatment and counselling.

If this animal was White, he’d no doubt be doing an extra ten years because his rapes were “racially motivated.” What’s more he’d deserve it – but not for the reasons a multicultural society would ever give.

Then again, if I’m wrong about that and my hyothetical White rockspider/rapist/bestial sexual deviant was released early – just as this Abo was, there would still be an outcry from Abo rights and anti-racist groups demanding he be locked up again simply because he’s a White racist and an example needs to be made.

It would have been preferable if they had just cut its balls off and strung it up upside down inside a cage in Queen Street Mall – unto death.
