A SOUTH Australian man killed in mysterious circumstances in the Northern Territory was eaten alive by wild dogs, his family said yesterday.

The fatal mauling is believed to have been the work of the same dogs that bit off a woman’s ear two months ago.

Michael Hardy, 26, a visitor from South Australia, had been driving back to Adelaide after coming to the Territory to visit his brother, Peter, in Darwin.

He was found dead near the entrance to the Hidden Valley town camp in Alice Springs last Thursday.

Police are mystified about what the Caucasian man was doing in the Aboriginal camp.

Witnesses said his body was a bloody mess, with his leg and arm savagely bitten.

The man’s family has been battling with South Australian Government departments to cover the costs of having his body flown back to his home town of Adelaide.

His mother, Brenda, is mentally disabled and cannot afford the $3000 it would cost to fly his body home.

The family was told by a South Australian Government official yesterday that they should consider “putting him on a bus” to reduce the cost of bringing the body home.

Mr Hardy’s cousin, Tabatha Dellar, said the death — and the way it had been handled since — had devastated the family.

“He deserves some dignity and humanity,” she said in Darwin yesterday.

Ms Dellar said the Tangentyere Council should have found the dogs and put them down after the first attack in May.

“The town council did nothing about these dogs and now they have eaten my cousin alive,” she said.

Ms Dellar said Mr Hardy, who was on a disability pension, had been driving back to Adelaide and the family was unsure what he was doing at the town camp.

She said police had at first told the family Mr Hardy had been killed in a car accident, but the Coroner’s office had confirmed that he had been killed by dogs.

Mr Hardy’s family fear he could be buried in a pauper’s grave in Alice Springs.

Comment:
Funny how the members of the Abo community are presumed to be completely innocent in relation to the death of Mr Hardy. I on the other hand don’t believe that to be the case.

It’s more likely that the poor man was lured to the Abo community, beaten and robbed, then fed to the dogs.

This is why even the Northern Territory Police will sometimes warn tourists to never stop for an Abo on the highway. If they stand in your way, go around them or run them down. If they lie down on the road, run them over – but never stop! If you do, you may be robbed, lose your car or be murdered, as I suspect this poor fellow was.

MANDATORY detention for asylum-seekers has been eased under changes to immigration policy announced by the Federal Government today.

“A person who poses no danger to the community will be able to remain in the community while their visa status is resolved,” Immigration Minster Chris Evans said.

Mandatory detention would apply only to those arriving by boat for health, identity and security checks, or those considered a risk to national security or health.

Legal assistance would be offered to those arriving by boat and they could have an independent review of unfavourable decisions.

Children would also not be detained in immigration detention centres.

“The department will have to justify why a person should be detained,” Senator Evans said.

“Once in detention a detainee’s case will be reviewed every three months to ensure that the further detention of the individual is justified.

Senator Evans said the Government would still retain its right to deport refugees.

“People who have no right to be here and those who are found not to be owed protection under Australia’s international obligations will be removed.”

Comment:
What the government has failed to state is that while the illegal aliens are dealing with their legal status in Australian courts, they are allowed to gain fulltime employment and unemployment benefits.

Also, if they do attain fulltime employment and settle into Australian society – albeit within their own racial group – they are almost guaranteed to be granted permanent residency.

That is of course if they don’t just do a runner and simply vanish from government dependency long enough for the Federal Government to enact a new law granting permanent residency to all illegal aliens, as is currently being debated in the US at the moment.

On the other hand, I’d like to see some skilled White people make use of the same rules and actually make a contribution to society. White South Africans are often refused permanent residency in Australia, so they first migrate to the UK and then to Australia. I can’t be sure, but I think the reason for that is because the Australian Consulate in Johanesburg is staffed by the usual anti-White, pro-black internationalists who would rather leave Whites to be raped, murdered and generally discriminated against based on their race, while they import AIDS ridden, uneducated, unskilled, black criminals.

Or maybe a partially disabled US war veteran should try it? If the veteran receives a military pension, then they have a small but permanent income for life. If they are disabled but capable of working – say, 40% disability – and are just unable to gain employment, and providing they have a college degree, they do not qualify for unemployment benefits in the USA. No unemployment benefits plus a high cost of living means their meagre $500 a month isn’t even enough to pay rent on a cardboard box, let alone buy food. Yet, if they come to Australia on a tourist visa, overstay their visa and fight deportation in court by claiming refugee status due to financial reasons, they would instantly get unemployment benefits, medicare (free medical), reduced rent, qualify for government housing, and have the right to gain fulltime employment. I wouldn’t recommend anyone moving to Australia for a better life, but for White South Africans and partially disabled US war veterans, it has to be better than their current situation.

David Cappo blasts government inaction over Gang of 49

THE new Families and Communities Minister has conceded her department has more to do in addressing the Gang of 49 crime culture in Adelaide.

Earlier today, the man charged with addressing the social ills behind the Gang of 49 – Monsignor David Cappo – said government departments were not doing enough to help.

Father Cappo, the chairman of the State Government’s Social Inclusion Board, singled out the Family and Communities Department as not doing enough and not working quickly enough.

Jennifer Rankine, the state’s new Families and Communities Minister following last week’s Cabinet reshuffle, said she would be meeting again with Father Cappo to discuss the issue, and will also hold talks with senior figures in Families SA this week.

“We always want things to go quicker than they are but we want to get things right as well,” Ms Rankine said today.

“There’s always room for improvement and I’ll be speaking with Families SA. (But) let’s be realistic, we’re working with the most difficult members of our community.”

Cappo fears another major Gang of 49 tragedy

Earlier, Father Cappo praised police for a “fantastic job” in bringing young Aboriginal criminals to the courts, but said government agencies were not providing enough support to help cut the reoffending rate.

On ABC radio this morning, he said the work of the police and justice system would be wasted without greater government support.

He said government departments must work “at a much more intense” level or efforts to reduce Aboriginal youth crime would fail.

“Now the Budget money is there, the money is now place in the last Budget so there are no excuses in terms of delivery, it’s just speeding it up and unfortunately I think you know the record of Families SA over the years is a very poor performer in terms of delivery,” he told the ABC.

Father Cappo, who admitted he listened nervously to news reports each morning with a fear that youth crime could claim a life, said crime rates had not improved since he began work on the issue 18 months ago.

“The more this goes on the more anxiety I have in terms of we will see another death on the road, another major, major tragedy if we don’t get this right in terms of our interventions with this group,” he said.

Opposition police spokesman David Ridgway said Father Cappo’s statements were a “damning indictment on the Rann Government’s lack of action” on the recommendations from the Breaking the Cycle Report.

“The Rann Government continues to drag its heels in tackling the issues identified in the report,” Mr Ridgway said.

When it’s White youths in low income areas hanging around together in large groups and not causing any problems outside the ordinary for the young, the media and the government push for more police with special powers of arrest on site and night time curfews.

When it’s Abo youths committing violent crime time and again, the government gives orders for the police to lay off, the courts pass out extra lenient sentences, and priests and other lefty do-gooders demand that the government do more to help “the most difficult members of our community.”

By “difficult” he means “disadvantaged” because of Whitey.

In my opinion, there is nothing that can be done to help them or any of their kind. Perhaps we should do what the Abos want and give them a section of Australia as their own. Maybe the Northern Territory? Throw all of them into that area and let them sink or swim. Sounds like a “win – win” situation to me.

THREE men wielding a baseball bat and iron bar burst into a hotel and assaulted two people after threatening a man in his home in two terrifying attacks last night.

The pub victims were at the Metro Hotel at Brighton about 11.40pm when three men described as aboriginal burst in to the gaming room, threatening staff and customers with their weapons.

Two people who tried to stop the bandits were assaulted but police said they did not sustain any injuries. The robbers then escaped with an amount of money in a stolen dark grey Holden Caprice.

One is about 170cm in height with black hair and was wearing a black, hooded top. Another is aged about 16-18, is about 172cm in height and was wearing a black and white mask and the third was wearing a white, hooded top.

About 20 minutes earlier, three men fitting the same description confronted a man in the yard of his home at Hove.

The resident confronted one of the men in his backyard. The intruder then scaled a fence and escaped.

The resident then ran through his house and into his front yard, where he was confronted by two more men threatening him with a knife.

He then barricaded himself in his house, the intruders trying unsucessfully to gain entry.

Blind man, guide dog win court action

A BLIND man who won a lawsuit after his guide dog was refused entry into a taxi is happy with the result – even though it means he lost a potential windfall.

Peter Ellson was today awarded $2300 in compensation and damages after the Equal Opportunity Tribunal found he had been discriminated against by a cabbie working for PBL Taxis in February 2006.

However, Mr Ellson could have made $25,000 more by settling out of court.

Mr Ellson said he took the legal action on behalf of all blind people who have experienced problems getting their guide dogs into cabs.

“Every single guide dog user through the metropolitan area have had difficulties with catching taxis and there are only three or four of us who have ever brought it to the Equal Opportunities Commission,” he said.

“They (taxi companies) still haven’t got the message but I’m thinking that today they probably got the message.”

The tribunal found that taxi companies and booking agents were responsible for the actions of their drivers.

Mr Ellson said some drivers were still prepared to “take the risk” of refusing entry to guide dogs.

“It’s a little bit like drink driving – people used to take the risk until the penalties got tougher,” he said.

“It’s the same with guide dogs – if they don’t want to take a dog they will take a chance.”

Mr Ellson was born with sight and said he knew how it felt to be treated as a “normal person” as well as a “second-class person.”

He said his legal battle had cost him much more than his $2,300 payout – but that his fight was never about the money.

“I’m not in it for the money, if I was on the second day of court, the operator’s solicitors actually offered me $27,000 to withdraw the complaint and go away – and I refused, I turned that down,” he said.

Family First SA leader Dennis Hood applauded the tribunal’s ruling as a win for blind people across the state.

“This case should have never gone to the tribunal in the first place,” Mr Hood said.

“The reality is that common decency says that if somebody’s standing on the corner with a guide dog then they should be picked up and it’s really sad that it had to go to this point.”

Mr Hood, whose mother is blind, said he was considering introducing a bill to Parliament which would see taxi companies liable for fines up to $10,000 for discriminating against passengers.

“Money hurts – the buck stops when you have to pay a fine and the reality is that if you hit the taxi companies where it hurts then they will be forced to pick up people with guide dogs,” he said.

A BLIND man says he was “gobsmacked” to be refused entry into an Adelaide taxi today – less than 24 hours after he won a landmark discrimination court case.

Peter Ellson was yesterday awarded $2,300 damages by the Equal Opportunity Tribunal over a cabbie’s refusal to let his guide dog into a taxi in February 2006.

Mr Ellson told The Advertiser he was stunned when another taxi driver sped off this morning, leaving him and his guide dog Faith stranded on a South Plympton street.

“I was gobsmacked – I really thought after yesterday that there would not be a person in South Australia who did not know that taxis have to take guide dogs,” Mr Ellson said.

Mr Ellson said he had booked the taxi through Suburban Taxis from his son’s house at 8.20am.

He said the driver stopped and emerged from the car before getting back in and driving off.

“He never said a word to me. I called my dog, got my bag and harness and then he was gone,” Mr Ellson said.

The Kangaroo Island man, who was born with sight, became a self-appointed crusader for blind people with his court action against PBL Taxis.

Mr Ellson turned down an offer of $27,000 to settle his discrimination claim out of court.

He said today’s refusal was like a “kick in the guts.”

“It’s absolutely deflating because I was on a high yesterday and I come out this morning and some guy kicks me in the guts again,” he said.

Mr Ellson said he had called Suburban Taxis to complain about the drive-off.

“I called them and they should have the call logged so we should be able to find out who the driver was,” he said.

While Mr Ellson said he would “get over” the incident in a few days, another court saga loomed.

“We are going all the way with this one as well, if that’s what it takes for them to get the message,” Mr Ellson said.

Family First leader Dennis Hood is considering introducing a bill to Parliament that would see taxi companies facing a maximum fine of $10,000 for refusing guide dogs entry.

Neighbours TV show ‘too white’

HIT Australian TV soap Neighbours in which Kylie Minogue first found fame has been branded “too white” by black and Asian viewers in Britain.

A report by the nation’s racial equality chief found many ethnic viewers felt were under-represented in some of Britain’s most popular shows.

Neighbours, which is screened on the Five network, and the BBC comedy The Vicar of Dibley starring Dawn French were singled out for being “all white”.

Other popular soaps including the BBC’s Eastenders and ITV’s Coronation Street also came under attack for including stereotypical characters such as Asian shopkeepers and black single mums.

However reality TV shows including the X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing were commended because people who appeared on those shows were defined by their talent not their ethnicity.

Equality and Human Rights Commission chairman Trevor Phillips said many of Britain’s major broadcasters remained “hideously white” when choosing programs.

“I don’t think anybody here is saying British TV is racist,” Phillips said.

“There are minority faces on TV, but it’s that we’re not quite getting it right, because we do not really have any minority decision makers.

“White people who live next door to Asian neighbours will see a representation of an ethnic minority family and they will say, ‘I don’t think so, it doesn’t ring true with the people I know’.”

The report was commissioned by Channel 4 following last year’s race row involving reality show Celebrity Big Brother.

During the program, screened early in 2007, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty found herself under attack from two fellow female contestants.

A senior non-executive BBC director, Dr Samir Shah, also recently accused the public broadcaster of rampant tokenism in its programs.

Perhaps this is where we single out certain American TV shows for being too black? Human Rights and Equal Opportunities should look into the fact that importers and sponsers of certain American TV and music shows remain hideously black when choosing programs. Television is already devoid of talented acting. Employing actors based on race rather than talent will only make it worse. Time to throw the TV out the window.

HOUSEHOLD electricity prices and other essential living costs will rise when the Government introduces an emissions trading scheme.

But pensioners, carers and the least well off will get tax cuts and increased welfare benefits to meet rising costs.

Climate Change Minister Penny Wong released the Government’s widely anticipated policy green paper yesterday, declaring the economy-wide impact would be “profound” and that there was no “cost-free way to tackle climate change”.

Describing climate change from unrestrained air pollution as “the greatest market failure the world has seen”, she committed Australia to a radical new cost structure which places a price on carbon pollution and imposes downstream price increases on virtually all goods and services. [more ...]

Adelaide Club move ends Jewish tension

A PROMINENT member of the Jewish community has been granted membership of the Adelaide Club, easing recent tensions between the two organisations.
Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce President and accountant Allen Bolaffi will be welcomed to the club at a new members lunch next month, nominated by several of his colleagues.

The acceptance will help end years of ill-feeling within the Jewish community and criticisms levelled at the club after managing director of Shiels [SACreator EDIT: and Grahams] Jewellers and Adelaide personality Albert Bensimon complained he was refused membership in 2005 and 2006.

Mr Bolaffi said he had been away at the time of Mr Bensimon’s rejection and said he did not believe his appointment was relevant to the debate.

“Nobody has asked me what football team I support or what religion I am, I am there on my own credentials and my own merit and that is how it should be,” he said.

“I have been a businessman in this town for 30 years and two of my colleagues nominated me. I have accepted the nomination.”

Egyptian-born Mr Bensimon said he had been told the Adelaide Club was also seeking a prominent Asian-Australian to help improve its multicultural image.

“I am happy that (following Mr Bolaffi’s appointment). I broke the back of a small but influential element within the Adelaide Club,” he said.

“When I was asked to withdraw my application I refused and I was told it would be very embarrassing, but I wanted to expose the situation.”

Adelaide Club management refused to comment on the membership yesterday but at the time of Mr Bensimon’s complaint in 2006 denied any discrimination.

Mr Bolaffi has been managing partner of accounting firm UHY Haines Norton for more than 28 years and is a prominent local government auditor and business director.

The 143-year-old gentlemen’s club has about 1000 members.

Jewish Community Council president Norman Schueler said the Adelaide Club had been an exception to the very tolerant South Australian community.

I really couldn’t care less about Albert Bensimon’s race or religion. Judging him by his own actions, Bensimon is a vile, contemptuous, self righteous, paedophile! He openly flaunts his paedophillia infront of those that work for him making use of the same threat he has for all of his employees; if you speak out, you will not only be fired, but his team of lawyers will make damned sure that you will lose everything you currently own and that you will never work again. Fortunately I do not work for Ben Simon and already own next to nothing.

The real reason Bensimon was refused entry to the Adelaide Club is because of his character – which is quite well known, but in a stereotypical Jewish way, Bensimon had to raise the cry of “anti-Semitism,” thereby gathering the forces of Jewish supremacy to battle in his stead. And of course they won because White people just don’t have the gumption to stand up for themselves again false accusations of “anti-semite” and “racist.” All they ever do is make a feeble attempt to deny it and then give the Jewish supremacists whatever they demand, which is supposed to be for the benefit of all of society, but in reality is just another triumph for Jewish supremacy.

Albert Bensimon should be locked in one of South Australia’s deepest and darkest dungeons, nevermind be lauded over as one of the top businessmen of South Australia.
